A Isolated Village Stands on the Mountain Top without Modern Transport
Would you dare travel to this village?
Taken straight out of a fairy tale, Guo Liang is the village above the clouds. For centuries Guo Liang village has been almost secluded from the world. The mountains are high and the mountain paths are dangerous. The only way to link the outside world from the village is the “Heaven ladder” a high and steep mountain path.
After a tragic death of a 10-year old child falling off this stairway, the Guo Liang tunnel was constructed in the cliffs of the mountain as a new path leading to the village. It is now known as the “Long Corridor In The Cliffs”.
In 1972 Mr. Shen Mingxin led 12 brave young men of the village and with unrelenting will and spirit, struggled hard for 6 years on the cliffs and finally built the tunnel which connected Guo Liang to the world.
